Gettysburg - Seminary Ridge

Seminary Ridge was the campsite of the Confederate Army. Most of their artillery batteries were located here, and from its gradual slopes Lee launched two major assaults on the Union lines facing his army. There are not many Confederate monuments on the battlefield. You will find most of them on Seminary Ridge. The Southern states made up for their monumental lateness by contributing several true works of art to the vistor's experience. Four of the hightlights to any visit should be stops at the Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Louisiana monuments located along the ridge's length. The best time to visit is very early morning when the fronts of the monuments are lit nicely by the sun.
